Who organized?
John Cachero

John Cachero Photography is organizing the May 2009 Hampton Roads Tweetup Photowalk to take place in Olde Towne Portsmouth, Virginia. For the past month, I’ve been vigorously trying to find all the creative minds in Hampton Roads who are on Twitter, and now that I’ve found quite a handful of you, I wanted to bring us all together. Whether you’re a photographer or not, whether you own a camera or not, even whether you’re on Twitter or not, feel free to join us.

If you haven't been following me, I've been making a push to designate #HRVA as the Hampton Roads, Virginia hash tag. It's slowly catching on. Let's make this happen.

I will reiterate that it is not necessary for you to even own a camera to come along on this photowalk.

    •  Had a great time and so it seemed, did everyone else. Only problems were the rain, which wasn't too big a deal, and the restaurant could've been more accommodating, but for that great a time its no problem.
    •  Just to clarify, about 21 people attended this HRVA photowalk tweetup and of that 21 in attendance, about 15 were previously on Twitter while the others were not (although all are on Twitter now). 90% of us didn't know each other except through interactions made via Twitter. Because of the relationships that had developed over Twitter, there was definitely a "long-lost-friends-reuniting" vibe in the group when we finally met. This was a very successful tweetup, in my opinion, because it revolved around an activity. I'm incredibly proud how well this tweetup turned out and I am so happy to have finally met the people I had been tweeting with over the past months. We really ended up with a pleasant, fun, and diverse group of people and I thank EVERYONE who showed up. I had such a great time. Oh, and the photowalk part was cool too. =) Consider following these two Twitter accounts to keep informed about tweetups organized by me (@johncachero): @HRVAtweetup @HRVAphotowalk
