Hang out with other bloggers micro-bloggers to chat, socialize, eat, meet and greet. Shop talk if you want, but most of all have a good time. Panera has free wifi, so if you want to blog the event live, by all means feel free to bring your laptops. I've got a limit of 15, but if we hit that number we can always stretch it a bit. This is a big place with lots of room, good eats, and lots of room to socialize. There's plenty of parking available directly across the street in the shopping center parking lot. Directions from 264 are pretty straight forward. Email if you need help. Looking forward to seeing this get kicked off. There are other places coming up in the future so stay on the look out.
*Note my schedule just happens to be busy during the end of August, which isn't always the case, so I am limited on dates, however, to allow for people to attend both tweetups, if they so desire, I am moving the date back one week. I do apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, however, I think this will maximize participation for both sides of the water. Thomas has been gracious in bringing this group together and I for one want to see it prosper. Thanks for your understanding!
Basically, the main point of the tweet up is to socialize, so if bringing your laptop is going to distract you or your going to have your face in it the whole time, then yes, by all means leave it at home. We want to meet, get to know you, and have a good time, not all sit around with our heads in our computers. Definitely bring your digital cameras though, that would be über cool!
I have only an iPhone at the moment, which only blocks part of my face. ;)
I'll bring a camera, though! :D
wish I cld make it but mayb nxt time; looks like we may nd a largr venue! http://twitter.com/MGBlankenship![]()
16 yes, 9 maybe. If you can't RSVP, go anyway, those 9 probably won't show up.
Per the announcement one week ago, which was posted, e-mailed (I believe) and twittered http://twitter.com/tweetup757/statuses/886818197![]()
, all "Maybe" RSVPs have been removed for the many waiting to RSVP yes. You are free to re-RSVP, but 9 maybes is not 9 yeses. Please don't be offended, we just don't want to have people left out because spots were hogged.
Please yell at us for being such monstrous jerks here: http://blog.meetup.com/427/messages/boards/thread/5236753![]()

Whoops, edited the RSVP limit to the 26th at 3:15 pm, don't know why it got bumped back to the 24th at 7:15 (I blame meetup.com because it happened to the peninsula meetup too)
Looking forward to meeting everybody!
I didn't exceed my character limit, did I? ;-0

(4) due to the subj matter and why we get together in the 1st place, plan an informal group chat to discuss topics, whether pre-determined or organically conceived by the group that shows up....
(3) have everyone exchange biz cards, even if they are just hand-printed @TwitterName cards
(2) include stand-up, 30-second elevator speech introductions of everyone to give everyone a chance to "meet" everyone else and encourage networking
this comes from YEARS of meeting and event planning experience. for next meetups' venue:
(1) have alcohol available
I am commenting on your meetup and will... probably not bring my laptop, because I don't want to get distracted.
