The only complaint that I saw last time (repeatedly) was that people regretted not getting to chat with everyone. That's a good thing. Let's do more of that. Having plans is silly as no one will stick to them, but here's one thing I'd like to do:
Get the people who borrowed the podcasting and videoblogging books to tell us if they were any good or not, and maybe teach us some things they didn't know about before reading! Sounds interesting.
The address shows up at the wrong location on Google Maps. I put a marker where it should be, go to the following link and click "Get Directions" then "To here", and put your address as the starting point.

Bean There can hold 70 people, but she recommends 50 comfortably. After 80% turnout last time, we expect about 30 people to show up. However, the more the better.
WHEN RSVPING
Please have your twitter name set up in your profile, in the big box next to More profile questions:, as I will be setting up name tags. If you are using your twitter name as your name here, like @keitha is doing, then I will try to find out your first name by checking your twitter profile. Names are hard to remember, so please take this step, as it will make things easier on everyone (and you'll get a rockin' big first name nametag!)
I hope to see you there! Check out photos from the last event to see what kinda people show up at these things :)
Get a SMS reminder before the event!
Set up your Meetup SMS settings so that Meetup.com can txt you before meetups. This is useful for any Meetup you may belong to, not just Tweetup Hampton Roads. For just Twitter based (and SMS, if you turn on Device Notification for the account) notifications, follow @tweetup757_.
The book review isn't really that important, I was just assuming that the books would have been skimmed or something by then. No hurry!
I noticed that people only notice a event started if they see it on Twitter about the time they're on. I'm trying to limit announcement tweets to one per day at the most, not to spam you, but to make sure it doesn't fall off the radar (twitter clients usually pull only the last 20 tweets!)
I apprciate th need 2 b "connectd". 2 some, hvin electronics w/thm is akin 2 hvin vital fluids pumpin thru ur veins. I get it, really! But, may I make a suggestion? I strongly encourage evry1 2 come DIS-connected. Ok, I know this is a Tweetup & phone/pdas r req'd 4 Tweetin/pics, etc. BUT, the purpose of meetin in person is 2 meet IN PERSON, i.e. TALK 2 people face-to-face. Try it sometime, the person w/out the wires (or wireless, as the case may b) may surprise u. R U game 2 try at this Tweetup?
I appreciate the need to be connected. In fact, I received several requests during the last meetup (but found out too late because I was not receiving notices on my iPhone and wasn't checking very often) to see if it was "going to last much longer" as some people decided to attend at the last minute. Because of people who didn't want me to be connected, some people were excluded. I plan on correcting this by being connected this time. I get it, really!
Wish we could come but will be looking at houses in Richmond!
It was a very nice meetup and our 1st:) Glad we got to meet quite a few of you who attended. We look forward to attending another meeting. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect before going but once we were there a little while we became more and more comfortable and enjoyed meeting some nice and interesting people. Hopefully next time we will be a little more chatty. Thx
always a good thing to have a good turnout...and the cake was great...thanks for sharing Tom!
Looking for people who want to bring power strips, since they have wifi and tons of space for laptops. I know I feel like part of my mind isn't there if I don't have access to Wikipedia ;)
